Normally, when a subordinate that you tamed or named kills something, the EP goes to the
subordinate — it grows, you do not. Summoned subordinates are different: their kills already
credit you in full.
This system closes that gap. With it enabled, when a non-summoned subordinate of yours kills
something nearby, you gain 10% of that kill’s EP as well.
It must be enabled on your server, and is off by default.
| Condition | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Subordinate type | Non-summoned — tamed, named or permanently owned |
| Distance | Within 20 blocks of the kill |
| Dimension | You must be in the same dimension |
Both numbers are server-configurable.
All three conditions must hold at the moment of the kill. Walking into range afterwards earns
nothing, and neither does being in range when the fight started but 30 blocks away when it ended.
This is the important part: the subordinate keeps its full EP gain. Your 10% is created on
top of it, not taken out of it. Nobody loses anything by you being nearby.
Your share runs through the normal kill-EP pipeline, so it behaves exactly like EP you earned
yourself — it counts toward permanent maximum EP growth, it respects your aura and magicule gain
attributes, your alignment multipliers, and any server EP caps.
That last point matters more than it sounds. Because your cut goes through the same pipeline as a
real kill, anything that boosts your EP gain boosts this too. A build with high aura and magicule
gain attributes collects meaningfully more than 10% of the raw figure, and a build with a
punishing alignment multiplier collects less. It is not a flat 10% skim — it is a real kill that
happens to be sized at 10%.
Summoned subordinates already give you 100% of their kill EP through Tensura’s own rules.
They are deliberately excluded here so you are not paid twice.
So in practice:
| Subordinate | You get |
|---|---|
| Summoned | 100% of the kill EP (normal Tensura behaviour) |
| Tamed / named / permanent | 10% on top, if you are within 20 blocks |
Read that table before deciding this system changes your strategy. If you run summons, it changes
nothing at all — you were already collecting everything. It only matters if you keep tamed or named
subordinates, which previously earned you nothing.
The 20-block leash is what shapes this. A pack of tamed subordinates hunting while you stand at
range earns you a steady trickle, but only while you stay with them. Sending them off to fight
somewhere else earns you nothing.
Fight together, not in shifts. The intended pattern is you and your subordinates engaging the
same group — you take some kills, they take others, and you collect on both. Parking a pack
somewhere to grind while you do something else is specifically what the leash prevents.
Twenty blocks is closer than it feels. It is roughly the distance across a large room, or from
one side of a village square to the other. In open terrain a pursuing subordinate will cross it
quickly, so kills at the end of a long chase often fall outside range.
More subordinates beats stronger ones. Because the share is a percentage of each kill and every
kill is checked separately, a pack of several weaker subordinates clearing a mob group generates
more total share than one strong subordinate killing the same group alone — provided they all fight
inside your radius.
It stacks with your own fighting. Nothing about this system requires you to hold back. Killing
things yourself and collecting shares from your pack are independent, and doing both is strictly
better than either.
Is my subordinate losing EP to me? No. Its gain is untouched. Your share is created on top.
Does it work in multiplayer if another player is closer? The share goes to the subordinate’s
owner, not to whoever is nearest. Another player standing next to your pack collects nothing.
Why did I get much more or less than 10%? Your EP gain attributes and alignment multipliers
apply. The 10% is the input to your normal EP pipeline, not the final figure.
It is not working at all. The system is off by default. Ask your server admin whether it has
been enabled.
